Thank you for all the supportive emails, they mean a lot to me and I’m enjoying hearing everyone’s thoughts and feelings on the new service. I apologize if I haven’t been able to get back to you right away, it was a bit of a flood.
I know some of you are disappointed that the new Muxtape won’t fill the void of the old, but I think a crippled version of what it once was would be far more disappointing. When it launches, the new site is going to be more interesting for bands initially than it is for casual listeners, but that will change rapidly as more music is added to the site. I want to start with bands and get it right for them first, and then start rebuilding the familiar playlist functionality as a layer rather than the foundation.
Ultimately, I think the new Muxtape will be a better web site. It certainly has more room to grow in more interesting ways.
“Instead of offering up concrete plans to solve these issues, Senator McCain offered up the oldest Washington stunt in the book –- you pass the buck to a commission to study the problem,” Mr. Obama told an audience here. “But here’s the thing – this isn’t 9/11.”—
“What is prudence? It is the ability to grasp the unique pattern of a specific situation. It is the ability to absorb the vast flow of information and still discern the essential current of events — the things that go together and the things that will never go together. It is the ability to engage in complex deliberations and feel which arguments have the most weight.”—Prudence
